Read an article on the BBC website about the Uruguayan President José Mujica last week, it makes for an interesting read.
It’s especially pertinent in light of the expenses scandals that have been dogging our parliamentarians in the UK for the last few years.
I have to say, he does make some interesting points, I especially sympathise with his views on ‘hyper consumption’, whenever I go to the shopping centre I’m amazed at how much of the stuff on sale is utter shit.
It’s mind boggling how much people spend on absolute rubbish that they don’t need, and don’t get me started about Primark.
Sounds like he has a fascinating life story, although I don’t know if Hollywood will be scrambling to make a film about a former Leftist Guerilla who shuns material wealth.
