Why Am I Me?

Just bought a book called Gentlemen of Bacongo, it is utterly nuts. The book contains photographs taken by Daniele Tamagni of the Sapeurs of Bacongo, a group of elegant, colourful and immaculately dressed dandies from Brazzeville in the Congo and has a preface by fashion designer Paul Smith.

The images are a real twist on the concept of satorial elegance set against a most incongruous backdrop. Great stuff, it’s made me want to go out and get a pink suit, some white brogues, a cane and a smoking pipe.

Porsche Shades

Got some new shades from my Godmothers shop The Emporium down in Greenwich. 80′s retro Porsche design and made by Carrera they are fully folding and come in a leather case. (more…)

Stones Merino Wool Briefs

I wouldn’t usually blog about a pair of pants, but I bought some recently that I really like, they are Howies Stones Briefs.

They usually retail at £35, which is way more than I’d normally spend, but were reduced to £10. Never owned a pair of merino wool pants before but, as they say in the Carribbean, comfortable. Odour free too apparently, I’ll definitely put that to the test.
