Whilst the vert 1080 by Tom Schaar in my last post is impressive you just can’t beat a bit of pure gnarliness like this bowl session at home of Pedro Barros. Would’ve loved to have hung out at this one, that’s some speed and power from the man himself.

Profile of the 2012 Etape Acte I
So I signed up to do a stage of the Tour de France again, Étape Acte I between again Alberville and La Toussuire in the Alps taking in the Col de la Madeleine and the Col de la Croix de Fer en route.

Union Jack, rainbow style
Chapeau to Mark Cavendish and the British Cycling team for a remarkable win at the World Road Race Championship. It’s been described as the perfect team performance but I’d disagree, the kit they were wearing was an absolute abomination.

Team Sky at the front
I’ve had a Nikon 70-300 zoom lens for some time but it’s not fully compatible with my camera so I bought a new Nikon AF-S VR 70-300 lens last week and decided to hit up the Tour of Britain in London to give it a try out.

The victory for Chris Froome over Juan José Cobo at the Vuelta today has to be one of the most dramatic and exciting finishes I’ve ever seen in a sporting event.

Mark Cavendish winning on the Champs-Elysees
What a great race this years Tour De France turned out to be, going right down to the wire on the penultimate days time trial with Cadel Evans putting in a storming effort to take the mailot jaune ahead of the Schleck brothers.

Col Du Galibier
I have to say that my ride in the 2011 Étape du Tour from Modane to Alpe D’Huez was a pretty epic experience, the atmosphere was great, the weather was pretty much perfect and the scenery absolutely stunning, but it nearly didn’t happen!

Forecast failure
It’s always a good idea to check the weather before going on a long cycle ride, which is precisely what I did yesterday. Cloudy and 18 degrees Celsius for the next 8 hours seemed like pretty reasonable conditions to get a decent ride in, so I headed off into Kent to find some hills.
