It’s been a while since the idea of new football kits has excited me, partly to do with adulthood and partly to do with the fact that football kits are usually sponsor emblazoned, poorly designed and, quite frankly, crap. They just remind me of the bargain bin at JJB Sports or some other strip lighted, fiesta of polyester, shell suit stacked sports superstore. I do feel that there have been some classic football kits; Michel Platini playing for Juventus, or Pelé and the Brazil team in the 1958 World Cup both spring to mind. Continue reading →
